Just to give you a feel of where we are digging, and what really matters in the landscape - here we are! Llanfihangel Tor y Mynydd is roughly equidistant between Chepstow and Monmouth. The dig site is in the middle of a 14 acre complex which contains footings for at least four post medieval farm sites - we will be looking at one of these farms, potentially two if our team is big enough. While it might be a bit of an archaeology cliche, the second most important feature in the landscape is the cask margue pub just down the road from the excavation site, The Star Inn - where we will be on the Friday afternoon at the very least (if not every afternoon).
