We always pride ourselves on these excavations on the diversity of our team. While we have no shortage of highly experienced field archaeologists to call upon, usually around half of our team either have no prior experience of field archaeology, or are coming to the excavation from a completely different discipline. This season proved no different. One of the fringe benefits of this approach, is it brings a different skill set to the team, and in the case of this blog, we were fortunate enough to be able to call upon the skills of a photography PhD candidate. Christine Novelli, and her partner Adam, were able to join us for one day at the end of week 1, and she has been kind enough to share these excellent images from her time with us. I think they capture the vibe of the excavation, and it was great to have someone on hand to record the team at work, something we generally don't have the luxury of time to be able to do. So many thanks again to Christine, and hopefully you'll all enjoy this great archive of day 4.
